Just a comment on using the 'fruit backup'. I successfully used it with a 'zfs' volume rather than only 'ext3' or hfs+. Still backing up, but it seems to be working quite well. I use freebsd NAS with afp & bonjour. I also don't mount as 'guest' and TM seems to work. Thanks for the great program. works with non drobo as well!
